For the Children We Love, and the Healing We Choose.

The Brave Butterfly Project

Suicide Awareness

The Color Journey Initiative

Our mission is to provide retreat grants and raise awareness to support families grieving the loss of a child to suicide. Through healing retreats, emotional support kits, and remembrance initiatives, we help transform sorrow into strength, one brave step at a time.

The Color Journey Initiative lights the way forward, using nature-inspired designs and symbolic gifts to honor our butterfly children while helping fund sacred spaces for reflection, connection, and healing.

💛 Welcome to the Brave Butterfly

I’m Deborah Berry, founder of the Brave Butterfly Project—
A sacred initiative born from personal tragedy, creative healing, and a spiritual call to serve.

Nearly 40 years ago, I lost my two-year-old son Lee to drowning. I know the silence that follows grief, the unanswerable questions, and the aching loneliness of losing a child.

In 2022, I began a color journey with Lillian Marie, my dear friend’s daughter—a creative healing project to help her reconnect with beauty, strength, and self-worth. When she passed, yellow butterflies began appearing everywhere. I knew this wasn’t a coincidence.

This was a message.
This was her light.
This was our mission.

And so, in 2025, The Brave Butterfly Project took flight.

A Sacred Alignment

World Suicide Prevention Day – September 10, 2025

will mark my 63rd birthday.

The heartbeat of this movement—and the day I was born.

This synchronicity is not about loss to me; it is about authenticity, life and love.

This date holds deep personal resonance, for I, too, have met with myself at the crossroads of life and death, and hopelessness.

Each year, we recommit to transforming remembrance into action, sorrow into support, and grief into grace.

I officially dedicate this movement and my life’s work…

To Lilly & Lee.

To all the souls who left too soon.

And to those still standing, walking with sacred scars, and choosing love.

✨ Our Mission

To raise awareness around the stigma of suicide, through beauty, remembrance, and soul support. To offer tools that help families move from sorrow to synergy, from silence to self-expression.

Nature-inspired designs that carry meaning and comfort:

  • Healing journals

  • Remembrance gifts

  • Keepsakes you can personalize

  • Emotional support kits

  • Sacred Retreats

Every item sold helps raise funds to provide emotional support kits and journals for grieving individuals and families. Honoring our brave butterfly children and promoting suicide awareness and prevention.

Our Mission Statement

Every butterfly has a purpose. Every tiger stripe is earned through courage. Every story of loss deserves a space to be heard.

Grief is not something to fix, but something to hold with reverence. Healing is not about becoming someone new; it's about coming home to a sacred love within.

3 THREADS ONE VOICE

A Mother's Grief, A Child’s Light, and the Promise to Keep Listening

The Brave Butterfly Project was born through the weaving of three stories—each one tender, true, and transformative.

  • A mother, Deborah, who lost her son Lee and spent decades learning to listen through the pain, finding meaning in signs, silence, and soul whispers. (Tea with Kindred Souls and The Dance of the Dandelion).

  • A devoted mother, Rachel, whose love and strength now keep Lillian's memory alive, through Lilly Day, held every year on August 9th.

  • A radiant young woman, Lilly, bright and sensitive, whose time on earth was brief, yet left an eternal impression on those who loved her.

Their lives became threads in the same tapestry—one of remembrance, advocacy, and creative healing.

What began as The Color Journey Project—a simple creative act of healing—blossomed into a mission rooted in emotional truth and spiritual connection.

Today, we walk with those navigating life after loss. We hold space for a deeper kind of healing— One that intertwines spirit, nature, synchronicity, and the language of the soul.

Because when we truly listen…
Love keeps speaking.

🌿 Lilly Day at Oasis Beauty

Each year on August 9th, I open the doors of Oasis Beauty Medical Aesthetics not just as a business, but as a safe space in honor of my daughter, Lillian.

Lilly Day is a tribute to her light —

a day dedicated to raising awareness around suicide and offering a soft place for those navigating life and loss. Through beauty, soul support, and remembrance, we invite our community to come together in solidarity.

Lillian’s spirit lives in every intention we set, every flower we place, and every story shared. This day is for every heart that’s learning how to keep beating while carrying the weight of loss — and for the beauty that rises through it.
